When you are looking at computers today, the choices available are countless. But what kind of computer is right for you? That is a good question that could be better answered once you know what you require out of a computer… and whether you are a Mac or PC person.. There is certainly a lot of different areas which you can compare a mac vs PC. Let’s get started investigating some of the primary elements to consider when buying a computer.

The best way to compare a PC and a Mac would be to put up a mac and a pc that are similar. It was a whole lot harder to compare the two a couple of years ago due to the fact they each used a different processor type. Nonetheless, in the last few years Apple has moved their machines to the Intel processor, this makes the comparability a good deal easier. Most of us primarily judge something by the style or look.. There are plenty of great PC brands out there that are making great looking machines. This is mainly in competition with the sleek, attractive style of the Apple Mac. That said, there are plenty of possibilities on the pc side of things.

Mac and PC both come with different software, so you need to look at that as well, especially if you are changing from a PC to a Mac and need certain programs.. Afterall, this is a time when money is important and if you are going to shell out serious cash for a computer, the last thing you want to do is drop a ton of money into it for software. PC’s have always done a great job of offering the basic necessities so far as word processing, presentation software, and other basic needs. In recent times their multimedia packages have improved in quality. On the mac side of things, the iLife suite is a pretty impressive lineup of software that comes standard with every single mac. It includes iPhoto, iMovie, iWeb and GarageBand… all fantastic high quality programs.

Price is always another important comparison if you believe the two machines are created almost equal. Because at the end of the day if you cannot afford something, then there is no use comparing it. On first glance you can get a similar PC for about the third of the price of a Mac… though Apple could argue that in the long run they are equal as they require less repairs.. In either case it’s good to know why you are purchasing this computer, how much you have to spend, and what your heart is telling you. Good luck!

HTC Titan Hardware Review

Full specs: bit.ly Full Titan review is up! bit.ly The HTC Titan is indeed a large device thanks to its 4.7″ Super LCD WVGA panel. It’s only slightly larger in terms of width and height when compared to a similar 4.3″-screened device. The Titan is made from metal, glass, and plastic, granting it a high-quality feel. Relative to other phones, the Titan has a relatively low pixel density on the screen, at just 198 PPI. You can indeed see pixels, but most people won’t notice. The Army Technology Zone at Maker Faire Detroit is coming to life. Dr. Grace Bochenek, TARDEC director, visited the site this morning to view the exhibits and talk to RDECOM participants. Maker Faire Detroit takes place this weekend at The Henry Ford in Dearborn, Mich. Organizers expect 20,000 visitors to the event that celebrates the innovative and creative spirit of all exhibitors and participants, including the makers of Utilikilts, manufacturers of utility kilts for everyday wear.

Which Educational Technology Purpose(s) are served?
technology

I’m thinking most technologies used for learning can be categorized into three functional categories or purposes: A funnel, a ruler, and an amplifier. Most K-12 schools seem to be using their technologies for the former two purposes, and ignoring or avoiding the latter.
